Waikiki

Located on Honolulu's south shore, world-famous Waikiki was the playground of the Hawaiian aliʻi (royalty). Today Waikiki is Oahu’s main resort area, and a vibrant gathering place for visitors from around the world. Along the main strip of Kalakaua Avenue you'll enjoy world-class dining, entertainment, shopping—and surfing!

Waikiki is most famous for its beaches, with no room more than a few blocks from the sea. With the hikeable Diamond Head Crater as your backdrop, the calm waters of Waikiki are perfect for a surfing lesson. The legendary Hawaiian waterman Duke Kahanamoku grew up surfing the waves of Waikiki. The Olympic gold medalist was later known as “the father of modern surfing.” Today's Waikiki Beach Boys perpetuate Duke’s legacy by teaching visitors how to surf and outrigger canoe, and the Duke Kahanamoku Statue is the iconic symbol of Waikiki.

But there’s more to Waikiki than just the beach. Attractions like the Honolulu Zoo (0.7mi away) and the Waikiki Aquarium (1.0mi away) offer fun for the whole family. You can learn about the history of Waikiki by reading the surfboard markers along the Waikiki Historical Trail. There's truly world-class shopping and dining all along Kalakaua and Kuhio Avenues, and at gathering places like the Royal Hawaiian Center and Ala Moana Center. The fun keeps going long after the Hawaiian sunset with amazing nightlife and live music along the Waikiki Beach Walk.

Best of all, Waikiki is close to most major Oahu attractions, including Pearl Harbor'Iolani Palace, Foster Botanical Garden, Nu'uanu Pali Lookout and Hanauma Bay. Other must-sees on Oahu include the Polynesian Cultural Center, Dole Pineapple Plantation, Byodo-In Temple, and the iconic North Shore surf breaks of Sunset Beach, Waimea Bay and Banzai Pipeline

From Hawaiian royalty to Hawaii Regional Cuisine, Waikiki continues to be an evolving expression of the ancient spirit of aloha. On these famous shores, the past and the future are uniting in fresh and surprising ways.

Sheraton Waikiki

Of all Waikiki Beach hotels, one towers front & center above the rest. The Sheraton Waikiki is a modern monument to traditional Hawaiian hospitality in Waikiki. This Oahu hotel is perfect for families seeking Hawaii activities, couples in search of romance, or weary travelers seeking a rejuvenating escape.

Sheraton Waikiki includes an adults-only infinity pool overlooking the ocean, Spa Khakara with a 24 hour fitness center, and the Helumoa Playground with a 70-foot waterslide.

The resort has intriguing dining options. Try Kai Market, a unique farm-to-table buffet serving multi-ethnic island cuisine from Hawaii's best farms. Book a table at Yoshiya, a traditional Japanese restaurant with a sensational sushi bar, elegant tatami room, and serene Tea Ceremony (featuring live music with Japanese traditional instruments). Relax at RumFire, Waikiki's hottest ocean-view bar, with fire-pit patio seating serving Hawaiian tapas.

The Sheraton Waikiki has always been iconic, and it recently completed a $200 million upgrade. Room rates usually begin at well over $400/night. For a limited time, we're able to offer our group rate of $269/night and oceanviews for only $289/night. Space is limited and we will sell out.

January 15 update:  As promised, the Sheraton Waikiki is now completely sold out. However, weeping and/or gnashing of teeth may not be required. There are many terrific resorts along the Waikiki strip within a pleasant Hawaiian stroll of the Sheraton. Options to consider include the Hilton, the Outrigger, and the "Pink Palace". Many may be booked as part of an Air Canada Vacations or Westjet Vacations package. Call Pauline at 888.739.3117 to review your options.
