Many physician leaders have been trained by CBT Canada over the past twenty years. Alumni include CFPC presidents (both national & provincial), department chairs, residency training program directorsand even a few doctors who are comfortable using drills & saws. Vacation CME has many advantages over local CME. See what your colleagues are saying, and explore the case for it being four-credit-per-hour CME.

No shirt, no shoes, no CME. However, what you do during non-CME hours is entirely up to you. The CMPA now refers to physician well-being as "the missing quality of care indicator" because it so powerfully predicts patient outcomes. Physician, recharge yourself!

CBT Arizona will be held November 26-28, 2020 at the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess. Workshop hours are 8:00AM to 12:15PM, with a complimentary Fairmont Breakfast included at 7:30AM every morning. You're free from 12:15PM onward on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday to enjoy the sunshine and warmth of Scottsdale, Arizona.

The 12.0 hour workshop is the acclaimed three-credits-per-hour CBT for Depression module, certified for 36.0 Mainpro+ credits by the College of Family Physicians of Canada. Please join us and you'll gain a plethora of ultra-brief techniques to help your patients defeat depression and be happy. General interest topics covered include procrastination, perfectionism, rumination, self-criticism, self-handicapping, letting go of the past, decision-making, and evidence-based marital enrichment.

Head instructor Greg Dubord, MD is nice & limber from giving over 500 CBT workshops, and is a University of Toronto CME Teacher of the Year

Can't make the CBT for Depression module in Scottsdale in November? No worries! CBT for Depression is held in Scottsdale every 3 years. But if you can't hang in there until 2023, there are many other terrific locations

CBT Canada won the National CME Program Award from the College of Family Physicians of Canada for the combination of this CBT for Depression module, along with the CBT for Anxiety and CBT Tools modules (details, including video).

Terrific workshop... 'spot on' relevant... engaging & enthusiastic... high impact professionally & personally... I will definitely be back for more.

Scottsdale

The magic of Scottsdale begins with its setting in the heart of the lush Sonoran Desert, with 330 sunny days per year. Indigo skies beckon you to explore pristine desert trails, rivers and mountains. Championship golf courses challenge your skills with artful layouts around boulders and saguaros. And local spas tap into ancient Native American healing techniques to soothe your body and soul.

Fairmont Scottsdale Princess is a five-star Southwest-style resort located on 65 acres of beautifully-landscaped Sonoran Desert grounds. The property includes 4 superb restaurants, 6 sparkling swimming pools, a massive spa, catch-and-release fishing lagoons, and a fun replica of an old Western town. Immediately adjacent is the 36-hole TPC Scottsdale, home of the Phoenix Open.

Our workshop will again be in the Fairmont Gold Room (photos), a first-class meeting space that's one of our all-time favorites. The decor is chic & uplifting, and the lighting is bright & natural. And the odds are good we'll have the massive glass doors fully-opened to let in a healthy & natural breeze. Don't try that in most Canadian cities in November!

Booking instructions

For a truly limited time only, we're able to offer Fairmont Rooms at the terrific rate of only $189/night. Extend your stay plus and/or minus three days and if you reference CBT Canada, the same great rate will apply. Call the Fairmont Scottsdale Princess at (800) 344-4758 or reserve online

Alternatively, book with our awesome Arlene at (877) 466-8228 x 333 or vacation@cbt.ca. There's no extra charge if you book c/o Arlene, and she'll also take care of the flights & CME registration for you (otherwise you'll need to register yourself with this link).

Excursions nearby

Sedona is located two hours north of Scottsdale. The very artsy community is surrounded by red-rock buttes, steep canyon walls and pine forests. Uptown Sedona is dense with New Age shops, spas and art galleries. Check out this stunning drone footage

The Grand Canyon is just 90 minutes further up the road from Sedona. At over 18 miles wide and a mile deep, the panorama of the Grand Canyon overwhelms the senses. If you're an acrophile the new Skywalk provides an excellent vantage point.

The penalty for procrastination

A tardy chief

We work with some truly first-class venues (e.g., Fairmont Scottsdale Princess) which deservedly sell out months in advance. Unfortunately, some doctors share traits with mere mortals, including the tendency to procrastinate. Regrettably, even the most strident cries of "Do you know who I am?" cannot secure the Chief of Staff (or any other Minor Deity) the best flights and a prime suite when the snowplows are already out. You owe it to yourself and your family to book early. How early? Those who've learned their lessons and take vacations seriously snap up the prime options a year or more in advance. That's just how it is. Book your package today!
