The CME
The CME is the combination of SuperDoc and Happiness Science, for the ultimate in self-improvement. SuperDoc (3.0 hours) equips physicians with CBT tools to reduce burnout and increase resiliency. Happiness Science (3.0 hours) explores positive psychology, offering evidence-based strategies to cultivate a more joyful life. The CME has been certified by the CFPC for 6.0 Mainpro+ credits.

CME cruise faculty
Lead instructor Greg Dubord, MD is the CME Director of CBT Canada, and the prime developer of medical CBT. He has presented over 500 workshops, including over 50 for the College of Family Physicians of Canada, and is a University of Toronto CME Teacher of the Year. Dr. Dubord completed his CBT training under the founder, Dr. Aaron T. Beck. He has taught in all Canadian provinces and territories, and in over a dozen countries.
About CBT Canada
CBT Canada has given over 100 workshops in collaboration with most Canadian medical schools, including Dalhousie, McGill, McMaster, Memorial, Queen's, UofA, UBC, UofC, Université de Montréal, UofS, University of Toronto, and Western (UWO).
CBT Canada won the National CME Program Award from the CFPC for providing "exceptional learning experiences". CBT Canada was also the first organization to be authorized by the CFPC to provide three-credits-per-hour CME. One accreditation reviewer wrote, "Two words: superlative & exemplary".
Many physician leaders have been trained by CBT Canada over the past 30 years. Port details
Day 1. Rome is brimming with ancient history and vibrant culture. Start at the Colosseum, an iconic amphitheater, and explore the nearby Roman Forum, where emperors once walked. Toss a coin into the Trevi Fountain for good luck, and marvel at the Pantheon’s ancient dome, a masterpiece of Roman engineering. Wander through the charming Trastevere district, with its cobblestone streets and ivy-covered buildings, and savor authentic carbonara at a local trattoria. Visit the Vatican to admire St. Peter’s Basilica and the Sistine Chapel’s breathtaking frescoes by Michelangelo. For a relaxing break, stroll through the Villa Borghese gardens, offering serene landscapes and stunning city views. Explore the Spanish Steps, a popular gathering spot, and enjoy gelato while soaking in Rome’s lively atmosphere. End your day at Piazza Navona, where street artists and fountains create a magical evening scene.
Day 2. Messina, a historic port city on Sicily’s northeastern coast, welcomes you with Mediterranean charm and ancient heritage. Begin at the Piazza del Duomo, where the stunning Messina Cathedral stands, its Gothic facade glowing in the Sicilian sun. Marvel at the cathedral’s astronomical clock, one of the largest in the world, which animates daily at noon with golden figures. Stroll along the waterfront promenade, enjoying views of the Strait of Messina and the distant Calabrian coast across the water. Explore the Regional Museum of Messina, showcasing medieval art and artifacts recovered from the city’s 1908 earthquake. For a taste of Sicily, visit a local market to sample arancini, caponata, and fresh pistachios, paired with a glass of Nero d’Avola wine. Wander the narrow streets of the old town, discovering hidden churches and vibrant street art that reflect Messina’s resilient spirit. Take a short drive to the hilltop village of Savoca, famous for scenes from The Godfather, and enjoy panoramic views of the surrounding Sicilian hills. Day 3. At sea, with CME from 9:00AM–12:30PM (3.0 instructional hours with two, 15-minute breaks). The SuperDoc Workshop: Leveraging CBT Tools to Maximize Physician Resiliency.
Welcome cocktail party. The festive CBT Canada Welcome Party begins at 5:00PM. All registrants and all their guests (of all ages!) are encouraged to attend.
Day 4. Olympia is the birthplace of the Olympic Games, founded in 776 BC, and its archaeological site whispers tales of athletic glory. Wander through the ancient stadium, where athletes once competed, and explore the ruins of the Temple of Zeus, once home to a colossal statue of the god. Visit the Archaeological Museum of Olympia, showcasing treasures like the Hermes of Praxiteles statue and intricate bronze artifacts. Stroll the sacred Altis grove, where olive trees still shade the grounds, offering a serene connection to history. Back in Katakolon, browse local shops for handmade olive oil soaps and ceramics, reflecting the region’s craftsmanship. Enjoy a seaside lunch at a taverna, savoring fresh grilled octopus and a glass of crisp Assyrtiko wine. For a relaxing end, walk along Katakolon’s small beach, dipping your toes in the Ionian Sea while watching fishing boats bob in the harbor. End your day with a traditional Greek coffee, soaking in the village’s laid-back charm.
Day 5. Corfu, a lush Ionian island, blends Venetian elegance with Greek tradition, offering a captivating escape. Begin at the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where pastel-colored buildings line narrow cobblestone streets filled with history. Explore the Old Fortress, a Venetian stronghold perched on a promontory, offering sweeping views of the turquoise Ionian Sea and the island’s coastline. Stroll the Spianada Square, one of the largest squares in Europe, and relax at a café sipping kumquat liqueur, a local specialty. Visit the Achilleion Palace, a 19th-century retreat built for Empress Elisabeth of Austria, with its stunning gardens and statues of Greek gods. For a taste of Corfu, sample sofrito, a traditional veal dish, at a family-run taverna in the old town. Swim at Paleokastritsa Beach, where crystal-clear waters and rocky coves create a serene retreat. Explore the Franciscan Monastery, home to one of Europe’s oldest pharmacies, and admire its peaceful cloister filled with citrus trees. Walk the Stradun, Dubrovnik’s main street, lined with bustling cafes and shops selling local crafts like filigree jewelry. Climb the iconic city walls for panoramic views of the Adriatic Sea, with red-tiled roofs contrasting against the blue horizon. Stroll the lively Riva promenade, sipping coffee while watching yachts bob in the harbor, a perfect spot to relax. Explore vibrant markets like the Green Market, sampling local olives, cheeses, and fresh figs. Hike Marjan Hill for stunning views of the Adriatic coastline and islands, a peaceful escape with pine-scented trails. Visit the Cathedral of Saint Domnius, originally built as Diocletian’s mausoleum and later converted into a cathedral, and climb its bell tower for panoramic vistas. Wander the narrow streets of the Varoš neighborhood, a historic fishing quarter with authentic charm. Day 8. Bar, a coastal gem on Montenegro’s Adriatic shore, offers a delightful blend of history, nature, and local culture. Begin at Stari Bar, the old town perched on a hillside, where ancient ruins whisper tales of Venetian and Ottoman rule, with stone streets leading to the 11th-century St. George’s Cathedral. Explore King Nikola’s Palace, a 19th-century residence turned museum, showcasing Montenegrin royal artifacts and lush gardens. Stroll along the waterfront promenade, lined with palm trees, and enjoy panoramic views of the Adriatic and the distant Rumija Mountains. Visit the Bar Olive Tree, one of the oldest in the world at over 2,000 years, symbolizing the region’s deep olive-growing tradition. Sample local cuisine at a seaside konoba, savoring grilled squid and Njeguški cheese paired with a glass of Vranac wine. For a nature escape, head to Šušanj Beach, where pebbled shores and clear waters invite a refreshing swim. Day 9. At sea, with CME from 9:00AM–12:30PM (3.0 instructional hours with two, 15-minute breaks). The content is Happiness Science: Evidence-Based Guidance for the Universal Quest.
Farewell cocktail party. At 5:00PM the CBT Canada Farewell Party begins. All registrants and all their guests (of all ages!) are welcome.
Day 10. Naples, the gateway to Italy's famed Amalfi Coast, pulses with history, culture, and culinary delights. Start at the historic center, a UNESCO World Heritage site, where the Gothic Santa Chiara Monastery enchants with its tiled cloister and serene gardens. Visit the Naples Cathedral, dedicated to San Gennaro, and admire its ornate frescoes and the miraculous annual liquefaction of the saint’s blood. Stroll through the bustling Quartieri Spagnoli, with laundry-draped streets, vibrant murals, and the aroma of espresso in the air. Explore the Sansevero Chapel, a baroque gem housing the breathtaking Veiled Christ sculpture, a marvel of marble artistry. For a taste of Naples, savor a margherita pizza at a historic pizzeria like L’Antica Pizzeria da Michele, paired with a limoncello digestivo. Walk along the Chiaia promenade, enjoying views of the Bay of Naples with Mount Vesuvius looming in the distance. Day 11. We return to Rome's port of Civitavecchia. If you have time to explore, begin at the Forte Michelangelo, a 16th-century fortress built to protect the port, offering views of the harbor and ancient defensive walls. Stroll along the Lungomare, the scenic seafront promenade, where locals gather to enjoy gelato and watch ships glide in and out. Visit the National Archaeological Museum, housed in a former papal garrison, showcasing Etruscan artifacts like intricately painted vases and bronze sculptures. Explore the medieval district of La Rocca, with its narrow cobblestone streets, ancient arches, and the 9th-century Church of Santa Maria dell’Orazione. For a taste of local life, head to the Mercato di Civitavecchia, a bustling market where you can sample fresh seafood, local cheeses, and Lazio wines. Relax at the sandy Pirgo Beach, soaking in the sun and swimming in the clear Tyrrhenian waters. Take a short walk to the Terme Taurine, ancient thermal baths surrounded by pine trees, for a glimpse into Civitavecchia’s pre-Roman past. End your day at a seaside trattoria, savoring a plate of spaghetti alle vongole while watching the sunset over the port.
