CBT Cuba
¡Hola! CBT Canada and MD Travel are pleased to present CBT Cuba from Sunday, November 20 to Sunday, November 27, 2011 at the tip-top-rated Iberostar Varadero. Workshop hours are 8:00AM to 12:30PM on the Monday, Tuesday & Wednesday. You're free all other times to enjoy the resort and to explore Havana.
The workshop combines CBT Foundations and CBT Tools for 12.0 Mainpro-C credits. Participants gain a rock-solid foundation in medical CBT (which assumes ten-minute office visits). The head instructor Greg Dubord, MD is nicely warmed up from giving over 250 CBT workshops, and is the University of Toronto "CME Teacher of the Year".
The workshop will be chaired by the inimitable Dr. John Cocker, Founder of Stitches: The Journal of Medical Humour. John advises you check out his world-famous Spanish phrasebook before your trip.
Varadero Beach is the pride of Cuba and a private enclave for Canadians and Europeans. Also called Playa Azul ("Azure Beach"), the 21km peninsula of fine white sand stretches far into the surrounding turquoise waters. Varadero is one of the world's finest beaches.
At the tip of the Varadero peninsula is the Hicacos Point Natural Park. The park includes the 250m Cave of Ambrosio, the ruins of La Calavera, and Mangón Lake, home to 31 species of birds.
Of all of Cuba's resort areas, Varadero is the closest to Havana. Spanish conquistador Diego Velázquez de Cuéllar founded the city on August 25, 1515. In the nearly 500 years since, Havana has built up some of the New World's most interesting architecture. Today's Havana is a blend of neo-classical, colonial, baroque, art deco and modernist.
The Iberostar is a true five star resort located right on Varadero Beach. TripAdvisor.com rates it the #1 resort in Varadero (out of a total of 60). Check out our gallery of resort photos and you'll see why!
