CBT Foundations

Up to 12.0 Mainpro-C credits

This practical Mainpro-C is for the family physician who wants more skills in the behavioral foundation of CBT. Positive behavior change is vital to mental health, and often more durably-effective than either meds or cognitive restructuring.

This sleeves-up workshop emphasizes practical assessment tools, homework compliance enhancers, and change-oriented charting. The focus is on the most strategic interventions that can be integrated into routine clinical appointments.

Applications highlighted include panic, hypochondriasis, non-compliance, chronic depression, substance abuse, GAD, borderline personality disorder, and suicidality.

1. Learn ways to harness “complaint energy” for action
2. Learn more effective ways to get the patient “on side”
3. Learn to overcome many vexing blocks to compliance
4. Learn to non-negotiably orient patients towards productive activity
5. Acquire solid confidence in the most powerful behavioral intervention
